Beginning with a performance of their song “Goodbye, Bayou,” Monty and Marsha take you on a personal tour of their home state, joining family parties, crawfish-eating contests, parades and festivals along the way, and feature the music of zydeco, Leadbelly and bluegrassNew Orleans' French Quarter.

Melrose PlantationStarting in the Northwest Parishes of the state, the film proceeds through the Bienville Parish, Natchitoches, Cane River & The South, Cajun Country, Baton Rouge and New Orleans regions. Among the many highlights are visits to an alligator park, Bed & Breakfasts, plantations, Mardi Gras, the Acadian Cultural Center, Jackson Square, the St. Louis Cathedral and French Quarter of New Orleans.

Visits to several workshops and factories illustrate the diversity of craftsmanship and Louisiana nativesindustry to be found in Louisiana: accordion makers, the Tabasco® factory, cane sugar harvesting and refining, culminating in the preparation of delicious bread pudding made with freshly milled sugar.
